BRUCE W. CHURCH

Mr. Bruce W. Church is presently President of BWC Enterprises, Inc.; former President of the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation (a non-profit corporation); a part time employee of the Desert Research Institute of the University of Nevada as a consulting Health Physicist, and is a former Adjunct Research Professor of Health Physics, at the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Church retired from the USDOE in Feb. 1995 as Assistant Manager for Environment, Safety, Security and Health at the Nevada Operations Office (NV) of the U.S. Dept. of Energy. He has served as a consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for remedial actions; Health Physics Advisor to the Government of Australia on remedial actions at the former United Kingdom nuclear weapons site at Maralinga 1986-2003, Mr. Church served (1995) as Co-Chairperson of the Risk Team, Office of Risk and Science Policy, Environmental Management, U.S. Dept. of Energy.

Mr. Church has been involved with and managed many radiological remedial action projects over the last 30 years, most notably the Enewetak Atoll cleanup 1977-1980. DOE project sites in the states of Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada and Colorado has been remediated under his supervision. He managed DOE/NV’s “Offsite Fallout Dose Reassessment Program” (1979-1989) and initiated and managed the Radioactive Low Level Waste Disposal Program at the Nevada Test Site (1975-1990).

Mr. Church is a Southern Utah Native, a graduate of Hurricane High School, holds a AS Degree from Dixie College, a BS degree in Molecular/Radiobiology from the University of Utah and an MS Degree in Radiological Health from Colorado State University.

He worked and resided in Southern Nevada for 36 years, moving back to Hurricane, Utah in December of 2002.
